Do a checkout and try it now (you can compile from CVS yes?) - there will still probably be a lag when it displays the view you are in, but nowhere near as long unless you switch to the debug view. I will add a status display to the window for the "view building" process which takes a while on slower macs and with lots of data. There probably still is the main memory leak. Spotlight reported (a logfile of *800k* - log entries, not data leaked) full of leaks after i quit the app, but i think most of them are red herrings.
