Ah. I've changed the scanner patterns (locally, will commit soon) so that
they treat bullets and stars in such messages the same. It also makes spaces
after the star/bullet optional. That should simplify things.

If you know someone at DT, hint at them that I have some suggestions on how
to make future log messages more easily parseable. :-)
