Something like it would be an excellent starting point, but feel free to
leave things unimplemented if its too complicated for a first cut. (I have
seriously no idea about GUI programming - to me, it looks complex...)

If you want to, I can create a branch off the main CVS tree for the GUI
development, so you can use CVS on those files without hurting anyone. Once
the GUI has stabilized, we can merge it back into the main branch.

Or, we can just declare here and now that those are "your" files until
further notice.
