I managed to initialize my DGT board with Scid by uninstalling and redoing the installation steps, clearing the board completely, and then setting up the pieces. However, I’m encountering other bugs now. Just for context: my DGT board is located 40 cm from my computer and has a solid connection, free from interference caused by metal objects.
Here is an example of a bug: the position detected by the driver doesn't always match the position shown on the screen (see screenshots). For instance, if I try to connect the DGT board at any point during a game—say, at the second move—the position isn't recognized. It would be very useful to be able to connect and disconnect the board at any stage of the game for analysis purposes. Also, I cannot move backwards (undo moves)—neither by moving the physical pieces on the board nor by using the back arrow key on my computer keyboard.
In short, using the DGT board with Scid isn't very practical. Could you please look into what might be done? Thanks for your help.
I’d also like to know which connected chessboard works best with Scid on Windows. Which brand (Millennium, Chessnut, Certabo, DGT USB, DGT Bluetooth, Zmartfun)? I apologize for the trouble, but using a connected board with Scid seems so logical and obvious to me—it really should be a given.
Thanks.
Best regards.
