The original purpose of having the tracker items was to have a place to put information about the status of work on the packages, plus any general issues that come. However, I have to say that it doesn't look like we ever used any of those trackers in a way that helped anything. So, unless someone has a better idea, I think you're right and we should close the trackers for accepted packages.

Packages as a whole ended up being dealt with in a completely different manner than being tracked here.
