Hi, I recently had some problems with my JRE (Java Runtime Environment) on Win XP - I had to uninstall it and am still not able to reinstall. I tried to install JDK (Java Development Kit; 7 Update 55) instead and all my software which needs Java to run is working again, except for RSSOwl.
When trying to start RSSOwl it puts out the following three error messages (separate windows each), but won't start at all:
Java Virtual Machine Launcher. Error: opening registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment'
Java Virtual Machine Launcher. Error: could not find java.dll
Java Virtual Machine Launcher. Error: Could not find Java SE Runtime Environment.
I'm not a developer, but as I understand it, JDK already includes JRE and other software working again with JDK only and instead of JRE seems to proof that, too. What's up with RSSOwl? Maybe someone can help. Thank you.
Edit: Sorry for double posting. First I tried to post this by sending an email, but when it didn't seem to work I did it the regular way.
