My machine at work uses ProQuota to limit the amount of profile space being used.
When RSSOwl downloads feeds, it comsumes all the available profile space.
I've tried using the following parameter to move the profile directory to another location
but it continues to use C:\Documents and Settings\<username>
-data E:\data.rssowl -data E:/data/.rssowl -profile E:\data.rssowl -profile E:/data/.rssowl
The correct argument is "rssowl.exe -data <folder>" in which RSSOwl will then create a folder called ".rssowl2". Are you trying with RSSOwl 1 or 2?
This is RSSOwl 2.0.3 Build 2010-01-20
I've got the argument set as follows: -data "E:/data/.rssowl".
The .metadata folder IS created in "E:/data/.rssowl" but the config200 folder is still being created in the
"C:\Documents and Settings\<username>.rssowl" folder.
Where is the actual downloaded feed data stored? That's the piece I need to move from my profile folder to an alternate location.
Thanks
Ah right, this folder can be set with another option:
rssowl.exe -configuration
I should update the FAQ to make this clear. Note that the folder is not becoming very large over time.
Thank you very much. The combination of -configuration and -data moved everything out of my limited profile space.
