I just did a huge tidy up of the various JREs and JDKs on my system and ran into a problem when running RSSOwl
The following might be a useful addition to the install.txt.
$ diff INSTALL.txt INSTALL-old.txt
43,46d42
< If you have a JRE installed on your system and you continue to see this error message
< please verify that your JAVA_HOME environment variable points to the root directory
< of the installed JRE.

I tried to use the "Submit a Patch" link on http://www.rssowl.org/dev but got a "Permission Denied" error from SF.net
