The notation editor can use various common third-party notation fonts, if you have them available. Of these, the Inkpen font is completely broken. I haven't been able to find one single thing anywhere that actually renders correctly. It breaks stuff absolutely everywhere when used.

Where did that mapping come from anyway? Do I even have the right font to use with it?

These questions are worth answering before armageddon, or maybe a few years just after.

Chris did, way back in revision 4854. I don't recall ever seeing it work, now that I think back.

I despise that font anyway. Some of my new percussion books actually are hand written. Screw that. That's why they invented notation software!

I tried to get the inkpen font working and failed miserably. Maybe it was the wrong font!
Is there any sense in pursuing this bug ?
    Feta seems pretty much fixed.
Maybe clean up the preferences and actually get rid of the font selection menu ?

Just did a little research on this one...

    • Our mapping is in data/fonts/mappings/inkpen.xml
    • Edit > Preferences > Notation > Font is where Rosegarden allows selection of a font. I assume this is for the notation editor and for printing.
    • Since we rely on lilypond's Feta, maybe the lilyjazz fonts would work with the Feta mapping? Perhaps instead of trying to support inkpen it would make more sense to include and support the lilyjazz fonts.
