We're proud to announce two new committers in the Roma project: * Luigi Dell'aquila * Giordano Maestro They will focus on the new "Tevere" module. Tevere is the big river that cut the Roma city in two parts. Tevere module will be the main workflow implementation with a Web GUI. Very soon Roma team will release the first working implementation. bye, Luca Garulli Blogging on: http://zion-city.blogspot.com <http://zion-city.blogspot.com/> http://www.AssetData.it <http://www.assetdata.it/> http://www.RomaFramework.org <http://www.romaframework.org/> - The new way to build applications http://www.OrienTechnologies.com <http://www.orientechnologies.com/> - Light ODBMS, All in one JDO solution |

Hi,
Sorry for delay on reponse. You can use the power of JDO 2 standard in =
Roma.
You can handle more objects in your method and commit anything in a
transactional fashion.
Example:
PersistenceAspect tx =3D ObjectContext.getInstance().getComponent(
"TxPersistenceAspect" );
Try{
tx.createObject( new Employee() );
tx.createObject( new Invoice() );
tx.commit();
} finally{
tx.close();
}
TxPersistenceAspect is the component declared in Spring's
applicationContext.xml file.
Hope to be help
bye,
Luca Garulli

Hello there I would greatly appreciate a small amount of your time to assist with my doctoral research at The University of Newcastle. The research concerns open source licensing and we're seeking developers working on Java projects. The research is supervised, ethics-approved, anonymous and results will be freely available. Participation will also provide a custom licensing report for your project. To learn more, please visit: http://licensing-research.newcastle.edu.au Thanks for reading this email, and I hope you'll consider participating. Best regards Ben Alex (My apologies for being off-topic; this list will not be emailed again) |

Category: Echo2-ViewAspect Group: None >Status: Closed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Luca Garulli (lvca) Assigned to: Luca Garulli (lvca) Summary: Default rendering modes should be configurable Initial Comment: Now, if not explicited, Roma uses the DefaultRenderingMode for components. For example, to render an action by default it uses the "button". If I want to render every actions of my application as "link", I had to set the view's feature render="link" to every actions!!! My original idea was to set by Spring the rendering mode foreach type. But now my thought is to follow inheritance as for other things (I18N, Styles, etc). So...If I can define that only for my Blog class I use always "links" to render actions and every Date field should not watch the calendar but the date in a text field, I should define something like this: Blog.field.date = text Blog.action = link If I create my SuperBlog that extends Blog, then Roma should: - search for SuperBlog class - if not found search for Blog class - if not found use default (configurable too) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Luca Garulli (lvca) Date: 2007-05-24 13:12 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=75115 Originator: YES Resolved by RenderingResolver component. [Apologies for the off-topic message; no further emails will be sent] You are invited to participate in an academic research project that I am conducting into open source component licensing. The research is part of my Doctorate of Business Administration degree at the University of Newcastle, Australia, and is being supervised by Dr Len Whitehouse. The research is entirely non-commercial, and full results will be made freely available to any person who is interested. It is hoped that the research will offer useful information about how component licensing is approached in practice. We are looking for Java software developers who are working on either commercial or open source projects. Participation in the research is entirely voluntary, and privacy has been carefully addressed to ensure that participants cannot be identified. The research has received an ethics clearance from the university. Participation will usually take less than 30 minutes. If you participate, you may optionally view a licensing compliance assessment report for your project. This may be of general interest or assist in planning licensing compliance strategies. If you are interested in learning more about the research, please visit http://research.acegitech.com. At that location you will find the Research Information Sheet that fully explains the research and provides you with details on how to participate or ask further questions. Please note that data collection is scheduled to end on 4 June 2007. Thank you for taking the time to read this email, and I hope that you will consider participating. Kind regards Ben Alex |

In few words it detaches entire object graph (following fetch plans). :) Aspetto notizie. Many people asked to Roma Framework team to develop a sort of RAD (Rapid Application Development). Roma is already a RAD, but what people ask is something like a graphical IDE. The Roma RAD idea could be as form of a Web Application itself (generated with Roma, obviously) or Eclipse+NetBeans plugins. The RAD should have: * UML Class Diagram to design classes with their fields/actions and relationships with others * Code generation: generate empty classes starting from UML Class Diagram * Supports all Roma Java5 annotations and XML Annotations (make a field invisible, etc.) * Supports the download of modules from a remote site (romaframework.org?) * Support for editing I18N files * Support for generation of CRUD (by invoking roma-console APIs) With Roma RAD also a child could create a Ajax Web Application...
