I just realized my contributed patch to repli-bootdisk isn't yet applied. To remember what it was all about: when the machine on which you create the bootdisk uses devfs, there is no way to create that damn bootdisk because repli-bootdisk tries to cp some /dev/* files, which are not there or at least are not "copy-able". See starting from line 429 to some lines further. My submitted patch was the only way to achieve this cleanly: untar some of the /usr/lib/debootstrap/devices.tar.gz. It doesn't add any new dependency as debootstrap is already used and tar is essential. I don't see why it is still not applied, after so many months. One more thing: devfs is going to be *the only way* to go with kernel 2.5/2.6. Thanks to commit my patch (I'll try to find it back or do it again if necessary). BTW: would it be possible to have CVS access? And to be an official Replicator developper on SourceForge? |
