Hi,

When outputting csv files, repast doesn't put quotes around strings. This
can confuse other programs which then try to interpret the strings as
numbers. In my experience there is a convention to put quotes around strings
in csv files and I was wondering if this could be followed by repast. When
saving to csv in OpenOffice, for example, you can choose which symbol to use
around strings, it would be fantastic if repast let you do this as well.

Fantastic piece of software by the way, thanks for developing it!

Hi, everyone!!!
I have a bunch of agents that extends a "GenericAgent".
Even though I set this option in "Step 3: Optionally type in a parent class name", this is ignored on the .groovy generated files.
That is, the generated source files are as it follows:
public class X_Agent{...
public class Y_Agent{...
and not
public class X_Agent extends GenericAgent{...
public class Y_Agent extends GenericAgent{...

I'm using Repast Simphony 1.0, on Windows XP running under the JVM that is installed with Repast S.
Thanks in advance for any help!!!
Please let me know If I'm missing any configuration.

100 million to 1 billion is a lot of agents! It depends on the =
complexity of the agents themselves, but you usually need a rather large =
computer to meaningfully model this type of thing in any form. I =
certainly would not recommend starting at this scale! You might start =
with Repast using smaller numbers of agents then move towards =
increasingly customized code as you scale up.

In terms of agent locations, it again depends on what you intend. =
Broadly speaking, models only require explicit spatial locations for =
components if the agent behavior or output analysis depends on explicit =
spatial locations. For example, modelers sometimes use networks in place =
of explicit spatial locations since for some models only the relative =
connectivity is important, as opposed to exact lattitude and longitude.

moderately complex agents.

I found a solution elsewhere recommending:

"The import statement "import static
repast.simphony.essentials.RepastEssentials.*"=20
prevents Groovy from generating the class-File. After removing the
static-keyword it works for me.=20
Note: After deleting "static" and before building you should uncheck
"Repast
Simphony Agent Build"=20
in "Builders" in the project settings - otherwise your editing is
overwritten by the repast builder."

But this did not seem to change anything.

Initial Comment:
Exporting data from Repast Simphony to R using the Repast Simphony gui does not seem to work with R 2.6.  I get the following error in R:

Error in eval(expr, envir, enclos) : could not find function "read.table"
Error in library(Rcmdr) : there is no package called 'Rcmdr'

I'm uploading the .RProfile file create by Repast when it tried to load the data.
