I had the same problem and I tried many things including moving HDD to another computer - results were the same. Even different versions (3.0.2 and 4.0) had the same error (no matter what software was used to create bootable flash). My solution: Make bootable flash drive with Ubuntu linux, boot to it, run Disk program, select each partition on each drive and perform Repair partition on it. Reboot again into Redo and now it should work without error.

Hello, I am a user who is using redo well. The driver to recover from Windows is C driver(SSD 230GByte). The redo backup image is stored in D driver (approximately 1800 GByte). D driver was used as a data disk, and partitions are composed of one. The redo program was booted from cd. I selected recovery and selected backup image from D driver. I accidentally selected source driver as target driver and proceeded with recovery. Soon after, there was an error message saying that the size was not the...

I initially used etcher which was recommended on their site but was too lazy to redownload it so I figured maybe rufus can be a good alternative. Using etcher fixed the issue for me, and it was what I used a lot previously for redo rescue until I got lazy.

I'm planning to clone my old Intel PC's image and restore it onto my newer AMD PC. I'm concerned that I might run into issues like being unable to boot due to driver incompatibilities. I recall that Acronis and Paragon had this feature called Universal Restore or Adaptive Restore (back when I used them on Windows 7). For reference, my old PC had an Intel i3 8100 processor, an H110 motherboard, and 8GB of RAM, while my new PC has an AMD Ryzen 5600 processor, a B550 motherboard, and 16GB of RAM.

There are many factors to consider when it comes to cordless table saws. Batteries, ripping capacity, capability are some of them.

Restore the hard drive (traditional technology) of my laptop to an SSD drive. The current disk is 1Tb and the SSD is 2Tb. Hi, I would like to suggest the creation of an alternate version 4.0.0 of Redo Rescue based on ubuntu, complementing the current version based on Debian 11. Debian is 100% open source, based on a current linux kernel. Newer kernels have great compatibility with new computers while losing compatibility with older ones, so the linux kernel does not grow too much in size. The creation of an alternate ubuntu based version would solve most problems of compatibility with old computers. This option is available...

Suspecting that the problem is due to the need for a 32-bit version of Redo, I downloaded and tried the Nov 21, 2012 Redo Backup version 1.0.4 (which is probably what I used for the 2017 backup) and this seems to be working (restore is in process now). Please don't misunderstand! We definitely agree that restoring from any backup made with an official Redo release is not an "edge-case scenario." However, let's be clear: you are referring to forks of our project, not Redo itself. With regard to the bug you mentioned: Obviously all data was not lost, and is safely stored in the backup. This is evidenced by the fact that the vast majority did not encounter the problem, as it would require certain alterations to their hardware configuration even though...

Example keys are ESC, F12, F11, F10, F8, and DEL. Often these must be pressed (not held) rapidly to get it to take effect when powering on. Which key depends on the computer or mainboard manufacturer but if you have a model number you can try searching for it to find out how to enter the boot menu. Once you enter a boot menu, you can...

Hello, and thank you for the informative post. The issue you've run into may not necessarily be related to the fimware message that appears here. Version 4.0.0: Based on Debian 11! This release upgrades the base OS from Debian 10 to Debian 11 (Bullseye). Other than updating the base operating system and its packages, the underlying application remains identical to 3.0.2 to simplify troubleshooting. This should bring a significant improvement in hardware supported for those with newer machines that booted to a login prompt rather than the graphical user interface. Please report any new issues on GitHub.

Hello, I'm a fan of of RedoRescue - it works when all other backup and recovery tools can't handle with bad sectors. I really want to use RedoRescue as my favorite, but there are some there are a few inconsistencies I want to tell you: The File Editor don't show mounted drives. So it was not possible to copy files from hdd1 to hdd2 I missed an option to exclude files in the RedoRescue-GUI (in Windows there are some big systemfiles like pagefile.sys and hyberfil.sys... when they files are excluded,...

Does this redo backup solution still work in case of hard drive failure ( C drive crashes) , because we have no windows ( or other OS) in our computer system to begin with. Can we still reach BIOS/boot up key in that case. Yes Do we need to make a separate USB recovery drive for our windows OS in this case or the redo backup solution ( as mentioned earlier) is enough for C drive failure scenario too? The Redo Backup backup that you have made will enable you to restore your PC from a hard drive failure....

Hi everyone, does redo backup solution work in case of hard drive failure? In redo backup solution , we flash redo iso in a USB and backup our files, folders, videos, photos, softwares in an external Hard drive which we can use to recover later. It works perfectly fine if there is no Hard drive ( C drive) failure in our computer/laptop. Hi, I use Redo Rescue 3.0.2. I have downloaded it today. I have 2 hdd drives. On the first drive I have got Tumbleweed and Windows. On the second drive I have got a Debian and NTFS partition. I did backup of my Debian distro that is placed on the NTFS partition on the second drive. It worked flawlessly. I wanted to backup my Windows too but when I try to save backup on the NTFS partition on the second drive I have got a warning. Disk is unconnected and read-only. What is going on?

I had a very similar problem. When loading Debian, it shows firmware: failed to load ath10k/pre-cal-pci-0000:2b:00;0;bin firmware: failed to load ath10k/cal-pci-0000:2b:00;0;bin and it ends with the Devian login on the CLI. I tried with v.3.0.1 and v.3.0.2, and they shows the same error (IMG_6509.JPG) with v.3.0.0 it shows more failures (IMG_6510.JPG) Is there any workaround I can use? for example running the Redo Rescue from the CLI. Thx! (The machine is a Dell Inspiron 15 5000)

It images the OS and user data bit by bit so yes everything is surely backed up.

Hello, I am trying to use Redo Rescue, from a USB stick on a Shuttle DH410 with Intel Tiger lake processor (Pentium G6500). This is a UEFI only system. Redo Rescue boots and presents the menu. After selecting to start Redo Rescue, it reports and error and does not start Redo Rescue application. As suggested somewhere else, inside Discussion, I tried also Debian 10 Live (both free and non-free with XFCE and KDE). I got the same result. So, the issue is probably in the kernel 4.19. I found this page...
