#111 Microsoft Defender reports PUA:Win32/Vigua.A virus present with RealTerm 3.0.1.44

Hi,

Windows Defender reports RealTerm version 3.0.1.44 is infested with PUA:Win32/Vigua.A

After I downloaded RealTerm version 3.0.1.44 (as it seemed to be a tested and non beta version) from https://realterm.i2cchip.com/ Microsoft Defender would quarantine it.

I even added the executable as well ass the download executable file path to the Windows Defender exceptions list but it still keeps reporting that a threat is present and does not allow me to use the executable.

This issue might have crept into other higher versions as well.

Please review the attachment and help resolve my concern.

Another instance of Windows Defender reporting a virus/threat.

Hi, I had this issue when I needed to re-install RealTerm. I use windows 10 and defender was blocking the install and deleting the setup.exe file. I had to disable virus protection by turning real time protection off after which it installed fine. To be safe I disconnetred the LAN before diabling defender, installed the program, then after a re-start the Windows defender re started but there were no issues with running the program. Hope this helps.
