Carlos Yee just informed me that the 1.4.1 release package is missing the .NET code. I did the release this time using the Windows XP zip tool instead of winzip. Shame on me, I did not validate the package. It looks like the XP tool ignores directories that start with a "." I've re-released the zip package using winzip. It may take a little time for the new file to propogate to all the mirrors. If you are not using .NET, you need not concern yourself with this. --oren --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? QuickFIX 1.4.1 is now available here: http://quickfix.thoughtworks.com/download.html release notes are here: http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=151463 Mostly bug fixes and compilation fixes. If you has trouble getting 1.4.0 working, this one probably addresses your problem. Also a fix for repeating groups is in this version. Experimental feature for displaying C++ call stack after a crash can also be optionally enabled. This adds overhead and should be enabled if you are experiencing a strange crash and need to know where it is happening. If your system provides you with a coredump, you should compile with -g instead of using this feature. Most of the patches for this version came from various contributors. CONTRIBUTORS and THANKS files have been added to the repository, acknowleding people who have helped the project. It isn't complete yet and I know I'm missing several of you. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Yes, that would be where you would do this. However, as mentioned in an earlier post, we have not implemented encryption. What this means is that we don't currently support fields that have a NUL or SOH character in them, either of which could show up in an encypted byte array. This has been on our agenda for some time, but we have gotten very busy of late (a good thing), and havn't put out an implementation yet. --oren David Monheit <dav...@ds...> To: "quickfix-users" <qui...@li...> Sent by: cc: qui...@li...ur Subject: [Quickfix-users] Loggin in ceforge.net 03/20/2003 01:37 AM Please respond to david.monheit Hi The fix engine I am trying to connect to expects an encrypted password in the login message. I can't see how one can initiate a logout sequence. To try to fix this I put a method in the Session that calls the generateLogout() method. This seems to work part of the time, but it seems there is an internal race condition in which the engine thinks it is a logout acceptor even though it initiated to logout sequence. Anyway does anyone know how to act as the logout initiator? Mike Simon |

What disturbs me is only the case where the connection is not established because=20 now - creationTime > UTC_DAY Note that in normal operation this should never happen, and that a program will never be able to get out of it !=20 In facta reset(), as for session creation, could be even better then an error message. We currently don't provide a convertor for fields of type LocalMktDate, so they are returned to you as a string. You would have to convert this yourself if you wanted to pull out the individual fields. You can use strptime (if you are using C++, use the appropriate date methods in Java or .NET) to convert it to a tm struct. We will be supplying more internal convertors in the future. --oren Jerry Westrick <je...@we...> To: qui...@li... Version 1.4.0, is now available from http://quickfix.thoughtworks.com. There were a lot of things done here, and I'm sure that some were missed even in the release notes. But this release is most important to the following people. 1) People wishing to use FIX 4.3: this is the first public release that supports this version of the protocol. 2) Anyone using the JNI/Java layer: The Java API has been further stabalized and memory leaks were tracked down and removed. Anyone use the JAVA api is strongly encouraged to upgrade. (special thanks to the guys at Aegis Software for providing test cases for these) 3) Anyone wishing to use QuickFIX through VB.NET: Namespace clashes have been resolved. Please also take note of the new XML data dictionary format. You old data dictionaries are backwards compatible, however the new format doesn't require as much redundant information. The full release notes are availble here: http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?group_id=37535&release_id=145058 On another note, March 1st was the 1st anniversary of the release of version 1.0.0. The earliest major adopters we know of have been running QuickFIX in production for 9-10 months now. Thanks to everyone who has supported this project. It's success over the past year was exceeded all expectations. --oren __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! What are you using to convert the schema. I ran it through the perl script dtd2xsd.pl (http://www.w3.org/2000/04/schema_hack/), and it looked like it was processed ok. I have talked to some of the people who would be responsible for putting this together for fixprotocol.org, and from what I can tell they want to do it but I do not believe they have started and it will probably be some time until one comes out. You may want to ask this question on one of their discussion boards. We do have our own markup language for defining the FIX protocol (http://quickfix.thoughtworks.com/xml.html). It isn't an XSD, but you could probably write an xslt that would create one based on that document. --oren "Warden, Anthony" <Aw...@le...> To: "'qui...@li...'" You can add it manually. We will also update the parser so the value will be included in future versions. --oren "El-Abid, Bassam" <babid@sectordata To: "'OM...@th...'" <OM...@th...>, "El-Abid, Bassam" .com> <ba...@se...> cc: "'qui...@li...'" 01/15/2003 10:58 <qui...@li...>, qui...@li... This xml file is generated from the FIX org's published HTML spec, which was done by hand. Sometimes this means that certain parts of it were done a little differently which confuses the parser. The parser just needs to be made aware of that special case. These show up pretty rarely, but are found once in a while. --oren "El-Abid, Bassam" <ba...@se...> To: "'qui...@li...'" The value P was mentioned in fix-42-with_errata_20010501.html for New Order - Single. FIXimate for 4.0, 4.1, and 4.2 on www.fixprotocol.org has "P = Market peg" as a value for "ExcecInst". Did anyone notice this? Are there any other values missing in the xml file?
