Yogesh, QF has been deployed in many production scenarios. We also generally don't give names unless they volunteer (feel free to scour the mailing list for who is posting). Software vendors probably don't mind so much since I'm sure they would like the advertisement. A couple vendors off the top of my head that use QF are patsystems and Aegis Software. I don't know how many deployments Aegis has, but patssystems has several hundred deployments of various sizes. We do not provide benchmarks as performance depends so much on the environment and usage of the engine. I would suggest that you create a small prototype of what you want to do using QF and see if the numbers are satisfactory. You can also contact some of the commercial venders who are often willing to supply demos so you can conduct side by side benchmarking. Do you have a specific performance requirement? You can also feel free to post your numbers and prototype on the developers list. Very likely you will get some input on improving your numbers and could also result in patches that optimize the engine. I believe that you will find the performance to be good. It is being used by exchanges and high frequency trading shops with good results. Yogesh Shetty <yog...@ft...> wrote:Hi, We are planning to use the quickfix engine with little bit of some tweaking. We are not at liberty to discuss who our client list is, but our FIX engine has been in production since February of this year. Our system currently does not have a high volume requirements, so I can't really offer much in terms of benchmarks, but it has been pretty steady since we've released it. We are also using the Java libraries (and JNI). We at Oaris Gmbh (Switzerland) are about to go in production with quickfix... Our expirience so far is that: not only is the software extreemely well designed, but is fast enough for usage in our real time ORS (Order Routing System). We've found that most of the (OrderInsert) elapsed time is spent waiting for the our counter parties to act on the order. In short, we can confirm it's responsive... But your question was more about through put and we don't expect the type of "heavy" loads on our routing system, where this was a concern. Unfortunatetly, I donot any stats, I can offer you. Yes, but do you have libxml2-devel (not libxml-devel) installed. Either this package must be installed, or you must compile libxml2 from the sources and install that. Hello Oren, I put a endless loop in the onRun method. Now I get a "abnomal program termination" and the vm crash/ends after this error. I get this error only during connection time. In the acceptor mode when a new fix connection is established and in the initiator mode during opening connection to the fix server. I get no stacktrace, nothing. I try already quickfix 1.4.0, 1.4.1 and the latest from cvs, with the same result. This happens only if I start it together/with jboss J2EE server. Jboss starts for each new module a new thread. Could this be a problem ? Thank you.. Cheers, jj -----Original Message----- From: qui...@li... [mailto:qui...@li...] On Behalf Of Oren Miller Sent: Freitag, 11. Dear sirs... I've got a wierd case here.... I'm developing an application using quickfix, The toolkit is great, but since I converted over to Microsoft Visual C++ .NET, the IDE hangs when I try to type in a sub routine... As example I tried the following: In Visuall C++ .Net Open quickfix/Examples.sln In the ClassView double click executor_cpp->Application->OnRun(void) as first line in the routine enter "sprintf("... The entire Visual Studio hangs before the "(" is written to the screen... Can someone please test this to see if it is: 1) my Visual Studio .Net setup (Most probable but I've reinstalled it twice) 2) the same happens to everybody... Jerry Westrick... |
