QuickConnectMac 1.0 Beta 2 now available!

QuickConnectMac 1.0 Beta 2 is now included in QCiPhone. It includes the following changes.

Simplified and fixed the asynchronous call handling code so that multiple asynchronous calls can be made in any order and intermingled with synchronous calls.

Added recording and playing of audio.
Added recording and playing of video.
Added Shipped audio and video playing.
Added Looping of audio and video.
Added Bonjour networking (Client and Server)
Added Error Logging and debug messages
Fixed database interaction for both native and in browser databases

QuickConnectMac now included in QuickConnectiPhone

QuickConnectMac, the Mac port of the QuickConnectiPhone framework, is now included in the QuickConnectiPhone download. When you run the QCiPhone installer you will have templates for QCMac as well as QCPHP added to your Xcode templates.

QuickConnectiPhone 1.5 Beta 3 is now available!

QuickConnectiPhone 1.5 Beta 3 has the ability to play, loop, and stop audio files you install with your application In addition to the other many features of QCiPhone.

There are various defect fixes including a fix that allows native database prepared statements that use strings as prepared statement parameters.

QuickConnectiPhone 1.5 Beta 1 is now available!

QuickConnectiPhone 1.5 Beta 1 now allows you to publish and connect to Ad hoc (Bonjour) services all from within JavaScript in addition to the many other native device behaviors available in 1.1.3. You no longer need to know Objective-C or learn a complex API. The simple JavaScript API lets you publish and use your services quickly, understandably, and with very little code.

Download it and give it a try.

QuickConnectiPhone 1.1.3 is now available

QuickConnectiPhone has a new release version available.

It includes the following changes.

Example applications updated to 1.1.3
apostrophes in the data of native databases now handled correctly.
a stopBounce() function added in the JavaScript. It stops the UIWebView from bouncing when the interface fits in the view.

Write your iPhone, Android, Mac, or Linux app in JavaScript, easily port it to the other platforms, and install and run it as a native application.

QuickConnectLinux 1.0 beta1 is now available

QuickConnect now is available for Linux. Develop in JavaScript yet still install your application. You access native SQLite database access. And even better your same JavaScript application code works with QuickConnectiPhone, QuickConnectAndriod and QuickConnectMac.

QuickConnect Android 1.0 beta 1 is now available

QuickConnect now is available for Android. Develop in JavaScript yet still install your application. You can vibrate the device, get GPS and accelerometer information, query built in and native databases, play sounds, and record and play audio files. And even better your same JavaScript code works with QuickConnectiPhone to make your device available for both Android and iPhone. You code even works with QuickConnectMac if you want to have a Mac version of your application.

QuickConnectiPhone 1.1.1 is now available!

QC 1.1.1 includes defect fixes to support prepared statements being called from JavaScript and executed using an SQLite database file shipped with the application.

New example applications are also included.
1 - stateSaving: how to save and restore application state between application runs. Uses SQLite native db and prepared statements.

2 - mapOnLaunch: how to display an embedded Google map when the onload event is triggered in JavaScript

It has shipped! QuickConnectiPhone, the leading iPhone framework for JavaScript applications is now available for download in Release form. It includes updated examples and the latest code.

QuickConnectiPhone 1.0 Release Candidate 3 Now available

QuickConnectiPhone 1.0 RC3 is now available. This installable JavaScript application framework now includes support for embedded Google maps as well as the ability to use GPS location, acceleration, debug messaging and other native iPhone device capabilities available in earlier releases.

Additional examples have been added. One shows how to easily embed a Google map using the framework. Others graduate from simple to more complete examples of how to use the framework to create your own installable JavaScript applications.

QuickConnectAJAX has a new release!

QuickConnectAJAX has a new updated release. It reflects the latest results of user feedback and includes a revised and simplified file structure, a simplified handleRequest function, and a new SQLite data access object for those browsers that support the HTML 4 in-browser databases.

The first release of QCObjective-C is now available. It can be used in both Mac and iPhone applications. It contains the most up-to-date architecture and has been checked for memory leaks.

QuickConnectiPhoneHybrid Beta 4 is available!

A few defects were fixed in this release.

1 - QuickConnect.js: Rationalized the names of the dispatch methods with the names of the types of control functions.

2 - QuickConnect.js: fixed a defect in the check method that caused a failure if validation control functions were mapped to 'default'.

3 - QuickConnect.js: changed dispatchToBCF to return a constant string if no BCF is mapped to the command. This will allow the developer to map commands to VCF's without any BCF's being mapped to the command.... read more

QuickConnectiPhoneHybrid Beta 3 is available!

Several changes have been made to make the developers work easier and defects have been fixed. with the progress the software has been making it looks like a release version will soon be available.

Changes:

1 - Removed files in the build directory of the Xcode template that could cause a compile error.
2 - Fixed source path issues for the mappings, functions, and databaseDefinition JavaScript files in the template's index.html file of the Dashcode project.
3 - fixed a crash caused by an uncommented line of code that attempted to add the toolbar to the view when the toolbar capability was commented out.
4 - fixed and issue in the session javaScript object that caused view control functions to be erroneously called when the session was updated.
5 - Added an optional parameter to the getData and setData functions of the PhoneDataAccessObject that turns off the automatic calling of the View Control Function for the current command when the function is done interacting with the database.
6 - Added the ability to pass an array of parameters to the handleRequest function in the QuickConnect.js file. This optional array of parameters is passed to the validation, business, and view control functions if the paramter is included in their definition.

QuickConnectiPhoneHybrid Beta 2 is available

QuickConnectiPhone Beta 2 is now available for download. It removes most of the sample application from the Dashcode template to make your application creation easier. Also, in the framework code for the Xcode template you will now find that the framework pushes location and acceleration information up to your JavaScript code. Just uncomment what you need in the Delegate class and give it a try!

QuickConnectiPhoneH is here!

QuickConnect iPhone Hybrid is the QuickConnect framework that allows you to create JavaScript applications that you can install and run on your iPhone or iPod Touch without any network connection. You are no longer limited to Objective-C to create you applications. Use QCiPhone to access the SQLite database on your iPhone or iPod Touch or access a remote server if you choose. Included in this beta release is a template for Xcode and one for Dashcode. You can create, edit, and debug your application using Dashcode's JavaScript, HTML, and CSS tools and when you are done drop it into an Xcode project for installation on your iPhone or iPod Touch. As with all members of the QuickConnect Family, you can quickly create secure, scalable, flexible applications without a great deal of work.

QuickConnectiPhoneH on its' way!

QuickConnectiPhoneH, a JavaScript version of the QuickConnectFamily architecture, is on its' way! It allows quick and easy creation of Hybrid iPhone applications. These applications run on the phone, not in Safari, and and can be written completely in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Database access is supported!
