#253 New session default directory

1. Open Qtractor
2. File/Save as
3. In the "Name" field, put "test1"
4. In the "Directory" field, put /home/me/session/test1 (Nb: /home/me/session does exist)
5. Answer "OK" to the "create session dir?" question
6. Now a file save dialog opens, but you are not in /home/me/session/test1

I can remember a time where when you did that, you were automatically positioned in the newly created dir. Now, it appears that you're in the previous session's dir, so you have to make sure to go back, enter said session dir, and save your session file in the right directory ; Something happened, right?

maybe something happened definitely yes if you're running on NSM (or JACK session management); but apart from that, I guess nothing.

please note that the so called "session directory" is not, never was and probably never will be necessarily the same place where you store the session xml file (.qtr, .qts, etc.); the "session directory" is just the place where new recording or created clips are to be stored.

as ever before, you may save the session xml file (.qtr) in anywhere else you feel right and pleased.

Yes yes, I know about the session directory, I even made a video / tutorial about that, remember? I was just wondering: Is there some mechanism (Qtractor code, or more probably some QT "files and dirs handling" lib) responsible for positioning the user into the directory he just created during the first session save? Because if yes, I'm happy to say it had worked flawlessly for basically the next decade, and sad to report that it just stopped working.

If not, well then I guess I was just lucky to find myself in the right directory every time, and that my luck just ran out :(
