what happens if you use the steinberg vst-sdk headers instead?

fwiw, i don't have issues with it (32 or 64bit) -- i confess i have some
reluctance in building any native linux vst plugins with the vestige
headers, but one day i'll try :)

in another note, are both the host (qtractor) and the plugins compiled
for x86_64 with the same compiler flags, specially -fPIC ?
