Hi :) I never tried to launch Qtractor by $ qtractor <filename.qtr> maybe it's possible to restore a HR timer session this way. I'll test this as soon as possible. I've got a question about HR timer settings. 1. Is there the need to configure it in /etc/sysctl.conf by dev.hpet.max-user-freq=<value> or will it also be fine, if I set it by echo to /proc/sys/dev/hpet/max-user-freq thus it will get lost after a reboot, but that doesn't matter, because by a session handler script I'll run sudo chgrp audio /dev/hpet sudo modprobe snd-hrtimer jackd -Rch -dalsa -dhw:0 -r96000 -p512 -n2 -Xseq and I could echo the wanted value too, if there isn't the need to reboot. 2. What are high-resolution values? 64 or 1024, 2048, 3072 ...? IIUC it means 1/1024 etc. and the higher, the better the high-resolution is, right? 1024 is better than 64? What are valid values? I guess 64 and 1024 are fine on my system. What would happen, if I choose a value that is too high or to low? Will there be any messages? IIRC I once read that the value isn't used, but I might be wrong. Google wasn't my friend ;). I found similar questions, but no answers. Cheers, Ralf |
