This only seems to affect the batch processor, but
1) the "TIFF (16-bit)" option means filenames actually come out with ".TIFF (16 bits)" as an extension - so other apps e.g. digiKam doesn't recognize their existence
2) For all that I requested 16-bit TIFFs, the files are only 8-bit. Example output from ImageMagick's identify(1):
fused_align_DSC04456_pregamma_0.9_reinhard05_brightness_-2.2_chromatic_adaptation_0.87_light_adaptation_1.TIFF (16 bits) TIFF 8001x5341 8001x5341+0+0 8-bit DirectClass 48.69MB 0.000u 0:00.000
