    Dear

    1. How to get commercial license on QTools colection?
      and relative
    2. Does QP/Spy may be used without QP framework? I do understand GPLv2 do not allow on distribute product with QP/Spy so I am asking of commercial license for Qtools.

    Best Regards
    /Greg

    Hi Greg,

Thank you for your interest in QTools.

We currently don't offer commercial licensing for QTools. We believe that this is unnecessary, because the QTools collection contains only software that runs on the desktop platforms and does NOT contain any software to run on embedded targets. This means that you don't need to distribute QTools inside any devices, but if you do distribute QTools, then we would like you to comply with the GPL. In fact, many tools included in the collection don't belong to us, so we could not really offer commercial licenses for such third-party software. I hope this makes sense to you.

The interface between QS and the rest of QP is clean and theoretically you could use the QS target component separately. But note that only the QS component resides in an embedded target, so you only need a commercial license for QS, not the whole QTools collection. Also, note that QS is typically not included in the final release builds (release build configuration), so typically there is no need for a commercial license and GPL works just fine for internal development and testing. For these reasons, so far nobody approached us with requests for a separate commercial QS license, but we could consider licensing QS separately. Again, I hope that it makes sense to you.
