I don't see any reason that vpopmail and qmail-scanner can't funtion together. qmail-scanner is placed in between the qmail-smtpd and qmail-queue, These both run normally on a vpopmail install. So when qmail-scanner is installed qmail-smtpd then qmail-scanner then qmail-queue run.... It should be invisible to vpopmail. I am in the process of evaluating this now. It all looks good so far. As for scanning for viruses on a mail server, its a major point of entry into any network. Most viruses spred by email. Most people run MS worstations/Desktops. Simple rule. Try to stop all viruses before they can get to the end user. Run it on all server. Especially the mail server!
