i have suse 7.2 with a selfmade kernel installed.
when i try to read out the device /dev/video with xawtv
the windows shows only noise (hissing?) and i get the
following error messages in the xconsole:
kernel: quickcam data error: [1] len=0, status=FFFFFFEE
line by line almost the same, only the index ([])
number changes
than sometimes:
kernel: quickcam: frame sizeis incorrect! (2107)
or
kernel: quickcam: frame sizeis incorrect! (57652)
or
kernel: quickcam warning -> frame overflow (14)
or
kernel: quickcam: frame 0 not free. skipping...!
AND SO ON !!!!
lsmod produces the following output:

mod_quickcam 30848 0 (unused)

does anyone know whether this is a driver or a xawtv
problem and how to solve it?
thanks
