Look at the patches. -----Original Message----- From: qce...@li... [mailto:qce...@li...] On Behalf Of jgoncalves Sent: Thursday, April 27, 2006 3:59 PM To: qce...@li... Subject: [Qce-ga-discussion] Fedora Core 5: insmod: error inserting './quickcam.ko': -1 Invalid parameters insmod: error inserting './quickcam.ko': -1 Invalid parameters === Leaving root mode === quickcam: falsely claims to have parameter keepsettings [!] The QuickCam driver failed to load! I kept getting this message in the kernel log ->falsely claims to have parameter keepsettings as I dug deeper it seems to be related to "qc-driver.c" I changed static int keepsettings = 0; to int keepsettings = 0 ; and rebuilt. I got past "falsely claims to have parameter keepsettings" and continued with the sam MO for the other warnings that followed. after a few more removals of statics, I got a good compile, I was able to load the driver, and finally was able to view images using gqcam. I don't know the details of the why's or why not's. Maybe someone can shed more light on the issue. I seem to remember Fedora core using a newer version of compiler, this may be causing the issue. regards Joey ------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
