Hi, I'm trying to install v0.6.6 of qc-usb but I'm facing some errors on my ubuntu system running 2.6.32-24 version of the kernel. To start off, the camera is detected by lsusb: Bus 001 Device 003: ID 046d:08c6 Logitech, Inc. QuickCam for DELL Notebooks In gstreamer-properties, under V4L2 I even see a video but it is of a poor quality. UVC cam does not seem to be using the right drivers. So I'm trying to install the qc-usb driver by using the quickcam.sh script. On running the script I get the following error: gcc version 4.4.3 (Ubuntu 4.4.3-4ubuntu5) Make version: GNU Make 3.81 Linker version: GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Ubuntu) 2.20.1-system.20100303 Kernel compiler: gcc version 4.4.3 (Ubuntu 4.4.3-4ubuntu5) [!] Kernel compiler and gcc seem to be different versions. Instead, they should be the same. If you have many compilers installed, you can specify the correct one with command (in bash) export CC=kgcc before trying to install the driver. Replace kgcc with the command required for compiling kernels (kgcc is often used in Red Hat systems). It seems to show me that the gcc version and the kernel version are identical -- and yet it says the versions are different. Please advice? Cheers, Arjun |
