Downloaded and installed Q4OS Aquarius, Trinity, install-cd - 32bit / i386 (5.7) yesterday on an old Compaq Mini 110 laptop.
The system defaulted to a scaling factor of 1.25 (small screen, max. resolution 1024 x 600px)
The Q4OS Welcome Screen contains a button especially for screen scaling. The problem is: It seems like the Q4OS default menus do not fit on such a small screen, especially at a default scaling of 1.25
The buttons to reduce the size are out of bounds! (See screenshot)
I like the idea of screen scaling in general and would love to use it, but I did not encounter any system, including Windows, yet, where small screens did not result in essential parts of menus being out of bounds.
Please see if you can re-program the Q4 Welcome Screen in a way that it adapts to smaller screen sizes (scrollable). No menus should be out of bounds.
I was able to turn the desktop 90 degrees in the monitor settings and reach the apply button of the scaling dialog this way, but even at 1.0 scaling the dialog does not fit the screen..
No window can be dragged higher than the upper edge of the screen, by the way, so this is no possible solution. They can leave the screen to any side but the top, so anything at the bottom remains hidden.

Another window that does not fit the screen (found it right now) is the settings dialog of the Synaptic packet manager. But I guess Q4 has no say in that.

Hey, thanks for checking in!
Oh my, I did not expect that to work. I already tried to right click on the window name in the bottom bar and select "Move". I was then able to move the window with my arrow keys, but again not higher than the top of the screen. I am really surprised it works differently with the alt key and did not thought to test that.
I'd be happy if you'd keep this ticket open anyway as a reminder to check on the GUI which is part of Q4 and make it compatible with small screens.
We may consider to display a tip message, if a small screen detected.
Nice idea. This would help for any window.
I see you put the system together in a very beginner friendly way.
I'd still assume it would make sense to update the GUIs that are part of Q4 to scroll on too small screens?

Yes, that makes a sense, we will create a new bug report with reference to this one.
Hello, problem is not solved in 6.1. Moreover it seems that the screen scaling is 1.25.
Ideal solution would be a text installation in cases like this.
