Yeah, it looks Debian modified their installation scripts again (remember, these images are experimental), and broke the "cdrom" detection process.
I was waiting for the 2020.12.12 ISO to see if they would have fixed that, but it appears that they might not even be aware of the issue.
For the time being, you can use this workaround:
When you see the No device for installation media was detected select Yes for Load drivers from removable media? Note:
This is important, as selecting No will make the mount command we enter below fail for some reason.
When you see the There was a problem reading data from the removable media. select Continue.
When you are brought to the Debian installer main menu, open a console with Alt-F2 (non Graphical mode) or Ctrl-Alt-F2
(Graphical mode) and press Enter to activate it
Type the command: mount /dev/sda1 /cdrom and press Enter.
Go back to the installer menu with Alt-F1 (non Graphical mode) or Ctrl-Alt-F5 (Graphical mode) and select Detect and mount installation media
The installation should now proceed normally.
unfortunately, they discuss cd-rom and I have USB stick, and myself being absolute Linux noob I have no clue how to manually mount the USB.

Please specify your hardware.
Are you able to reproduce the issue with the vanilla Debian 11 install cd ? https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/amd64/iso-cd/
Are you able to install Q4OS the same way on another hardware ?
The problem with installer was caused by the malfunctioning USB port.
Switching to a different USB port solved all problems.
q4os-4.5-i386-instcd-testing.r1.iso also installs flawlessly from Cd-ROM drive.
I also installed Q4os 4.5 on another 32-bit computer, and also Vanilla Debian 11 from Debian.org (again I used 32-bit debian11, since I do not have 64-bit computer as recommended in the Q4OS Team - 2021-06-12 post). No issues were encountered.
