when i try to copy files from other partitions i get 'permissions denied'. How do i get the file manager to open showing the partitions and allow me to copy from one to the other thanks. I think when i first installed q4 i got around it by a consul login then sudo su then startx then filemanager but my memory is hazy it might have been another system because it doesn't accept my password on sudo su (i'm nearly sure it did before). It accepts it using sudo in a terminal but not sudo su. Anyway any ideas? Brian

Have just managed to do it by going to superuser-filemanager; going to the top menu 'go' and choosing storage volumes. Then going to the partition i want to copy from and r/click then mount, then r/click again and 'open in new window'.I then drag and drop the files i need and it worked a treat. If you have a more expedient way i would still like to hear it but i am no longer stuck on this issue.Brian
