In Synaptic I can only find the version for KDE4, and I prefer to install TDE apps whenever possible.

You may want to enable upstream Trinity repository as it is disabled by default, follow the procedure in terminal.
list available repositories: $ sudo qrepoadd
add Trinity repository: $ sudo qrepoadd trinity
install application: $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ksnapshot-trinity
we recommend to disable Trinity repo again, as it is not fully compatible with Q4OS $ sudo qreporm trinity $ sudo apt-get update
