#71 Bad code generation

The attached code crashes when the button is pushed.
Fiddling with the optimization settings and adding code
in the button event handler causes different types of
crashes:
. Read from invalid memory (low memory, form
memory, bus error)
. Emulator (POSE) lock-up

I am seeing this with the current version of all tools,
running m500 debug ROM on POSE.
