Hi, prboom 2.4.2 linux, when the character picks up blue health sphere, rad suit, or map enhancement item, game exits with: W_GetNameForNum: dsgetpow not found. Happens with both Doom and DoomII wads, registered versions. Is there a fix for this? Hi, Is anyone interested in IPv6 support with PrBoom? I've created a patch for prboom2 (r1519 in official SVN repository) to add support for IPv6. It works in conjunction with a patched SDL_net that also has IPv6 support added. Not really tested since I hardly have two computers at hand to test two clients, but the server recognizes that a client connects with UDP over IPv6. I'll publish it if people show interest. I have prboom working on my machine and I'm really enjoying playing the game I played most as a teenager. How do I go about playing online against other people? I've googled and didnt turn up much except web-based java client. Do people play this game online anymore? I'm sure there are lots of people like me who dont have the best hardware and would love to play online. If anyone is interested, please get in touch. I'm willing to get an extra pc and host it myself if I have to! Kind regards, Jarlath |

Hi! When starting up two prboom 2.3.1 clients against a prboom 2.3.1 server here the clients seem to load all needed data & get their configuration from the server. When its time to start playing neither client responds to movement keystrokes and such action-actions. The server seems resting, not using any cpu: just saying it signals the clients to start. I am able to close down both clients nicely so they arent completely locked. I have not provided any config-file to my server because its not said to be needed. I just tell it on the command line to run a doom2 coop game with 2 clients. Is there some known wrong I am doing - getting my clients stuck? Does the server need Multicasting capabilities enabled (Maybe my Linux-server drops all the action on the floor ;-)? Regards, Patrik Arvhult Sweden |

Hola, I'm getting copious compiler warnings and errors with 2.3.1, like: d_main.c:140: error: static declaration of =E2=80=98basetic=E2=80=99 follows non-= static declaration doomstat.h:227: error: previous declaration of =E2=80=98basetic=E2=80=99 was here Every time I fix one error, another one takes its place. ;) Is this vers= ion of the code currently being worked on? Ultimately, I want to hack on a project to teach myself game programming.= I know, but am inexperienced with, SDL and OpenGL. Hi, debian 3.1 (sarge, testing) prboom 2.2.6 - music isn't playing (neither external mp3's nor internal) if external iwad loaded (doom2orig19.wad). Sound effects are ok. Music files are mp3's like runnin.mp3 and so on. - in Options->General can't go to second page (label 'Next') if external iwad file with long path loaded (/usr/home/4/ftp/pub/musor2/games/doom/doom2orig19.wad). - in Options->General->wad#1 can't enter long path to external iwad: /usr/home/4/ftp/pub/musor2/games/doom/doom2orig19.wad. Program exits after entering 'w' -- Best regards, Arkady |

Or you can try to cross compile it from Linux. I once tried cygwin, and it mostly worked, but I didn't compile all necessary libraries to make it really useful. MingW might also work, but I never tried it. Regards, Florian Schulze |

It's installed with most Linux/Unix distributions. For Windows you need this one: http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/patch.htm After you patched the source, you need to compile it to get a new executable. Regards, Florian Schulze |
