This error was my mistake: I was trying to use the wrong Glide. For Voodoo2, the correct one is Glide_V2, and I was using Glide_V3. I can now run the demos, but prboom is running at the same speed. I'm now using Glide_V2-2.53-6 (the latest at linux.3dfx.com), and Device3Dfx-2.3.4-7mdk, and my kernel is 2.2.17. Quake2 also runs at full speed, with hardware acceleration. -- []'s | .~.
