    Hi,

I installed pubuntu and it is amazing to be able to run it under Windows. Mainly want to use it for media such as ipod. I used gtkpod in the past but don't have a Linux application. Therefore installed pubuntu and tried to install gtkpod, but keep getting error messages. Whenever I try to install a package I get this:

    pubuntu@pubuntu:/home/gtkpod/gtkpod-0.99.12$ ./configure
    checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
    checking for a thread-safe mkdir -p... /bin/mkdir -p
    checking for gawk... no
    checking for mawk... mawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes

Also tried to install libc6-dev, but then get the same message.
I would be really happy if there was a solution.

    Many thanx!
