Hi all, I have a samba box which uses pam/winbindd to authenticate users via NT domain controllers, this saved me from having to recreate 500+ accounts on the samba. Now I'd like to have "PopTop"(so in essence pppd) use pam/winbindd also for authenticating remote users logging in to the same samba box. I've applied the mppe-mppc patches to the kernel, compiled pppd with pam- support... but this is where I'm stuck, here's my config files -pam.conf- ppp auth required pam_nologin.so debug ppp auth required /lib/security/pam_winbind.so debug ppp auth required pam_unix.so debug ppp account required pam_unix.so debug ppp account sufficient /lib/security/pam_winbind.so debug ppp session required pam_unix.so debug ppp session required /lib/security/pam_winbind.so debug -options.pptpd- debug name FTPTUX lock mtu 1450 mru 1450 proxyarp noauth login ipcp-accept-local ipcp-accept-remote lcp-echo-failure 3 lcp-echo-interval 5 deflate 0 mppe required,no40,no56 mppc noipdefault require-mschap-v2 ms-wins 192.168.0.1 ms-dns 192.168.0.254 -pap-secrets- * * "" * that's it ... when trying to connect from a Win2k client, "pptpd -f" says /usr/sbin/pppd: The remote system is required to authenticate itself /usr/sbin/pppd: but I couldn't find any suitable secret (password) for it to use to do so.
