That's correct. Some people also have an internet connection over pptp or pppoe, and when they lower their mtu and mru to say 1490, their connection is more stable. When they also run pptpd, that mru and mtu has to be lowered again by at least 10. So, to be on the safe side, I allways recommend 1450 for pptpd.
