That sounds good, but could you be a little more specific? Did you simply use the ./configure; make; make install method from the top of the unpacked tarball? That method has begun to work with cygwin recently, but I am not sure whether that is what you are doing. Also, the later cvs snapshot plplot-5.2.1.cvs.20031227.tar.gz is now available from http://people.debian.org/~rafael/plplot.html, and that snapshot is now bein= g updated fairly often (and remains quite stable) as we move toward our next release. > I would like to create the win3 device to work with ms windows but as > far I can see the only possbility is using MS Visual C++. > Implementing the building of the win3 device for the cygwin compiler woul= d be great as an > alternative to the commercial Visual C++. > could someone help me about how to do that, or if someone have got it? If you are using the above method, I believe the xwin device should just work. I have no personal experience with cygwin, but I understand from reading that to get the xwin device to work you have to install XFree86 on cygwin first. Note, that xwin is different from the win3 device, but AFAIK win3 emulates xwin for a windows-only environment without X, but you have access to X(Free86) under Cygwin. HTH.
