It could be that the error message is important, if Tcl aborts the load
when an error is received.

After 'load' when you do:

% info commands pl*

is 'plframe' listed?

Best approach is probably to do what I described in my following mail and
install everything where Tcl expects to find it (tcl/lib/plplot5.1.0 or
whatever), and use 'package require Plplotter'.

Note: there is no 'plinit' command with the tkwin driver -- all plplot
interaction happens through a plframe widget.
