That's a strange one, Valerij. All the driver details for yplot are just handled by plplot so I don't understand why you get the segfault in one situation (yorick front end = yplot), but not for the C front end to plplot. This problem does not happen under Linux, and unfortunately I cannot proceed further because I don't have access to solaris with X. (The SF compile farm solaris machine I have access to doesn't have X.) If you wanted to investigate this further, I would try some variations on the theme such as gcc rather than native solaris compiler (or vice versa if these results were with gcc.) Also, I would try the latest version of plplot from CVS rather than 5.0.4. Meanwhile, I will file this under bugs to be investigated if/when I get access to solaris + X.
