I can confirm, that Visual C++ reports 1400, that all examples compile without problem now, and I think that msvc 2003 and 2005 are very similar compilers, so the structure to define special numbers should be the same. The IDE changed a lot and the way to distribute executables - so that it's very had to distribute Visual C++ 2005 executables (at least for the express version), since the executable depend on strange libraries, which are not even for Windows XP SP 2 standard - I tried it once, but than gave up :).
