I no longer have permissions to that document to check it out. It was probably created by "spankyFromBRC" and now I'm "spanky". I don't recall writing it, so I'd have to read it over, but if it's still valid and pertinent, feel free to get it up on RTD. -- ~Spanky On Oct 18, 2012, at 4:16 AM, Kees Hink wrote: > On IRC, saily pointed out that > http://plone.org/documentation/kb/add-a-folder-structure-to-your-product > has been retracted. Without being "owner" (i'm in the contributors group, so i'm on "teams"), i have the merge button as well. But i like other people to merge my stuff, for sanity-checking. On IRC, saily pointed out that http://plone.org/documentation/kb/add-a-folder-structure-to-your-product has been retracted. Looking into this, i found the doc to be up-to-date AFAICT, but i would like to move it to collective-docs.readthedocs.org. Is there anything that speaks against this? I also sent the message below to the retracter (spanky) via plone.org, hope he reads it. Kees --- message to spanky --- Hi Tom, According to history, you retracted http://plone.org/documentation/kb/add-a-folder-structure-to-your-product in january. Don't know why - it's still current isn't it? I'd like to have this doc on http://collective-docs.readthedocs.org/. If it's not outdated, i will start a new entry there and replace the existing page with a "moved" notice (and re-publish it). Thanks in advance, Kees |

I don't really care where it ends up as long as there's one location that the other current copies redirect to. |

Hi, I am planning to write a longer post in the future; this is just quick summary of ongoing documentation team work. - Moving tutorials and manuals to collective.developermanual so that old p.org documentation sections can be taken down. Currently UNFINISHED: Dexterity manual, Theme reference for Plone 3 - poke on #plone-docs on IRC if you have free hands - Open developer.plone.org domain where the documentation will be hosted. Currently engaged with admin team to get this finished. - Documentation team issues are now tracked at https://github.com/collective/collective.developermanual - migrated the issues from the old repository, but might have lost comments ----- Follow me in Twitter Read my blog -- View this message in context: http://plone.293351.n2.nabble.com/Post-sprint-quick-update-tp7560299.html Sent from the Documentation Team mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Hi folks! The page http://plone.org/documentation/manual/upgrade-guide/minor-version-upgradesrefers in the section 'Obligatory Warning' to the 'Preparations' section of the Upgrade Guide, but the URL is lacking 'upgrade-guide/'. Thus: http://plone.org/documentation/manual/preparations should be: http://plone.org/documentation/manual/upgrade-guide/preparations Best regards, Roger |

For the record, i removed duplicate documentation (doc that is also present in http://collective-docs.readthedocs.org/en/latest/serving/webdav.html) from http://plone.org/documentation/kb/webdav. After reading http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9127269/how-can-i-stop-people-accessing-a-plone-server-via-webdav, i checked and discovered that indeed WebDAV is always enabled in Zope. I tested on 4.2, but Martijn Pieters said that it was always the case. I posted something on http://keeshink.blogspot.de/2012/09/how-to-disable-webdav-in-plone.html, but the doc should be updated i think. I've updated my fork of collective.developermanual, here is my pull request: https://github.com/collective/collective.developermanual/pull/68 Should we also remove the bit about "Enabling WebDAV in Zope" from http://plone.org/documentation/kb/webdav? Right now it's in 2 places (also in c.developermanual), and i think a developer will prefer the latter. Kees |

A blog can have comments and interaction about each post, but a forum can have many threads that don't involve the owner of the site. If you want people to interact on their own, then a forum would be your choice. If you want to have more control over the conversation, then use a blog. -- View this message in context: http://plone.293351.n2.nabble.com/forum-or-blog-tp7557585p7557647.html Sent from the Documentation Team mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

A drive-by improvement: https://github.com/collective/collective.developermanual/commit/66ea0ae2c7de040061c5270ee4e828b94d1561ba Is it preferred to mention changes in the developer documentation somewhere (for review perhaps), and if yes, where? Kees |

Greetings This https://plone.org/documentation/manual/theme-reference/buildingblocks/skin/templates/global-template-variables is still shown as "valid for the current version of Plone" in spite of https://plone.org/documentation/manual/upgrade-guide/version/upgrading-plone-3-x-to-4.0/updating-add-on-products-for-plone-4.0/no-more-global-definitions-in-templates/ Best regards J Esteves |

Although it needs some editing and validation from community. https://docs.google.com/document/d/19-o6yYJWuvw7eyUiLs_b8br4C-Kb8RcyHcQSIf_4Pb4/edit I would like to get this info out of google docs.
