I'm working on converting our Pyro software [1] over to use all of the new code, and adding Gazebo to our list of supported simulators. I have a question on how best to have Gazebo and Player start up. We have a picklist menu that allows people to pick the simulator, and the world to use. In Gazebo, a player instance needs to be started in addition (I guess Stage starts it up automatically). I can automatically start up player after I start gazebo, but... The question: should I make a player .cfg file for each Gazebo world, or can I have a single .cfg file for all possible world files? Ideally, there would be a way to have player (or some parser) use the world file as the cfg file, and know exactly what drivers/interfaces/IDs to define. What is the recommended method? Any hints would be appreciated, -Doug [1] See http://PyroRobotics.org/ for more info on Pyro. -- Douglas S.
