hi, I've just added a driver, 'mapscale'. It takes a map from another device, scales it to a given resolution, and provides the result, via the 'map' interface. You need gdk-pixbuf-2.0 installed (it's part of GTK, and usually already installed), which is used to do the scaling. For example, to subsample a map by a factor of 5: map:0 (driver "mapfile" filename "mymap.ppm" resolution 0.1) map:1 (driver "mapscale" map_index 0 resolution 0.5) brian. -- Brian P.
