Hey, I have a pioneer 2, with a MVSBC8 motherboard. We also have a Sony PTZ E30 camera. We are trying to get it to work with Player, so we bought a few cables that were advised on the list. One of the cables was a DB9 male to 8 pin mini-din, and the other was a DB9 (male :-() to 20 pin thingy on the motherboard. One of those cables was supposed to be a female, and the sales rep said it was female, but apparently the company stopped making female ones some time back. So we bought a db9 male-male connector (not sure if thats the right name, but it lets us connect the two males). According to the manual, the serial port we have the camera connected to now is COM3, which should be /dev/ttyS2. Now, when we attempt to use playerv to subscribe to the ptz, we get an error about not being able to connect to the camera. We've spent a few hours trying different serial ports, different settings for the serial ports, and made a few virgin sacrifices, but no luck. So, does anyone have any suggestions? If I need to give more data, let me know and I'll include some more the next time I go to the lab. Thanks _________________________________________________________________ Is your PC infected?
