After some more than half a year I've upgraded Player on one of my P2DX robots (SVN trunk). I've observed several regressions comparing to previous versions: 1. Sonar data can't be drawn by playerv, while simulated sonar data from Stage 2.1.SVN are drawn properly, that suggests problem with p2os driver. 2. Gripper can't be opened for more than 4 centimeters, playerv draws gripper device very small. Comparing to this, gripper simulated in Stage 2.1.SVN is drawn and operated OK. Setting gripper_outersize and gripper_innersize helps only with drawing gripper device on playerv (previously it was drawn right without need to set anything on P2DX side), still after setting these options gripper cannot be fully opened. I've also tested linuxjoystick driver working on some remote machine, as it can send 'open' and 'close' commands to gripper interface (as a reaction for pressing joystick buttons). The same bad results, so the problem is not on playerv side, still p2os driver is suspected. 3. Driving PTZ device on Sony EVID30 became extremely uncomfortable. Since I was successfully using the same version of playerv to drive ptz device on D-link wireless camera (my own PTZ plugin driver for it), it must be some regression in sonyevid30 driver. As a progression I can note that server-server communication is now (finally!) capable to drive my P2DX robot using joystick operated by linuxjoystick driver running on some remote machine.
