if you search the mailing list archives there was a previous discussion on this, without seeing a gdb backtrace it is hard to comment, but it looks like it could be a bug in the mesaGL library, or some non standard feature that stage is using wrong. You could also search for any known issues in mesaGL around this, and try installing a debug build of it and see if that gives any more detail.
