It would be quite nice if we could insert a "libplayerlocal" transport mechanism that we could just link the c libraries against. I think it would be a better approach than trying to just link to libplayercore/drivers in client code. We do quite a bit of stuff on the local machine and use Player as a standard way to access the hardware. It would be great if we could speed things up a bit by removing the TCP layer(or even better selectively enable one or the other). Along these lines, other transport mechanisms like those mentioned before could be implemented. This would allow users to pick and choose the model that best suits them. Best regards, Brad |
