I will try to do the translation when it's usefull, but we look often the same questions and some users are not able to do the translation. Then the new lists will contain the same answers that you can find in the archive of this main mailing-list. I do that because if i receive a japanese mail i will not happy to not understand, and i think it's the same think for you. I do a lot of advertising in french and no you will see more and more french users. Larry wrote: > I was not bothered by having other languages in the main mail list. Sorry if this question has an obvious answer that I'm not finding, but I haven't found an answer elsewhere. I just installed DB on my Palm and am trying to set up a database. When I try to show and edit the properties for each field, it just brings up a blank screen with the buttons "Done" and "Cancel". Is there a component to install that I'm missing? I couldn't find anything in the zip file that would work. Also, I'm not able to define the filters. There doesn't seem to be a menu option to do so. For any replies, please CC: my email (je...@mi...). Thanks! Jenny |

I am trying to transfer a large (>3000 record) database from my main computer to my palm. It takes forever. The reason is that each record is being merged into the database rather than db3 spotting that this is a new database (rather than a synchronisation). If the database is new, there is no need to update pointers every record, it can be done at the end. In addition, if a database is loaded using synchronisation, each record the program has to decide where it goes in the database, but since records are added from front to back each record is added at the end. Searching from the start through the whole database takes a *long time* especially when there are lots of records. This is what I *think* is going on, but I may be wrong. Thanks for your help, Martin |

The source code comes with one the downloads. You can also read the instructions on the project page (http://sf.net/projects/pilot-db/) on how to access the CVS repository which has development code. |

with the package you have a directory Plugins with a db-JFile3.prc. Install this file on your device. Open DB and if you don't see your databases select the menu "Rescan Databases". The snapshot is the current developpement version at this moment. It could have bugs, and i found one yesterday. The db-en-color.prc have a trouble to display the list. Use the db-en-sony.prc file, it works on every devices, NOT only Clie. Be cool the first beta version will come soon. hi 2 all ;-) here a _minor_ bug when searching: when the option "use filter when possible" is checked the "search" and "search again" buttons are available. searching again works fine as long as no dataset is opened. when you open a dataset the search is cleared and the search again action will show simply the _next_ dataset, not the one which matches the former search criteria. happy X-mas to all, especially for the developers of DB, relax some days ;-) so long, ciao hermann |
