I have a Psion Revo Plus. The "Data" program, which is the Psion database 
program, has an option under File-More: Export to text file. It creats a 
comma separated file (CSV-file) with all the data from the database. This 
can be imported into almost all database formats.

I recently received a palmone mode zire 31 and am currently researching the
type of info I can store on it. I wanted to import a database I currently
store on a Psion organiser but cannot find out how to do it.

I downloaded your database programme from the Palm website but there is not
a windows version that I can use to import the database and cannot seem to
find any way to do on the palm pilot itself.

Can you let me know if it is possible to import this info and if so how to
do it.

Why not? scripts.txt has a section named GLOBAL SCRIPTS, one of the
(two only) functions there is 'filt <name>' which does what you want.

Sorry for not replying earlier.
I did not have time yet to look at 1.1.2, especially at the options
used to compile the binaries. Is there maybe more than one binary?
When you compile it you can choose if you want these Filters or not.

Yes, I have. I only get 10 digits that has nothing to do with the result:
(sort 0 1 )(int (+ %2 (ffr 3 -1 0 )))
Am I doing something wrong?

This works but displays decimals.
(sort 0 1 )(+ %2 (ffr 3 -1 0 ))
Field 2 is an integer field.

Do you have any solution for this?

I saw that it's possible to use Global scripts in views. 
Can they work as filters? In that case: how do I write them? Nothing 
written about Global scripts in the manual.

I thought there should be something like. I can do a Find which scrolls 
the table to the next line containing the string. But I don't see 
anything labeled Filter. I 'm only given an option to enter the search 
string, case sensitive, match whole word and field selection drop down.

[pilot-db-list] Fatal Exception on sort

I have a visor platinum and im using version 1.1.2 dated  dec 22 2004.
 Whenever i try and sort a database i get a fatal exception and a
reset button pops up.  However, the application has locked up and the
reset button does not work, i have to manually reset my PDA.  Its
happened in 2 different databases ive created and it does not even
sort the database after i look at it again.

What can i do to fix this?

Yes i found the bug in the sort form that crash the
application. I already correct it, i will release a new
version (1.1.3) soon, but i need to do some others thing, before.

I'm using DB-List ver. 1.1.2  and am having some problems with it.  I have a database of movies I've seen and when I try to sort the data, I get an error:

Emul68KMain.c, Line:456, line 1111 exception at address004ACB84



The error forces a reset of my Tungsten E.  This database has 40 records and I had used an earlier version of DB-List for a long time without any problems.  If anyone can figure out what's causing this, I'd love to fix it!  TIA.

Did you try using Filters? They seem to be exactly what you want.

Using the latest version of Pilot-DB on a Visor Deluxe. Is there a way 
to set up a view or otherwise display only those records that meet a 
given criteria? I'd like to set up one DB that I enter data for 
different items but then be able to look at the data for only 1 specific 
item. I'm trying to avoid have 1 DB per item.

Hi,

Does anyone know if the following is possible?

-select a field from a LIST
-have the database automatically fill in other fields based on what
was picked from the list in the previous field

I'm not sure if this is possible... would I have to use conditional
statements in the other fields to determine what was picked from the
list field? Will this work, or is there even a better way?

The intended purpose is to be able to pick from a list of equipment,
then depending on what equipment was picked, fill in certain data
(specifications) for that equipment, and then perform calculations on
that data.

Using what browser, on what OS?  And what was the error message?

It works fine here using Mozilla 1.75, Firefox 1.0, or IE 6.0

Nope.  Pilot-DB is hosted on Soiurceforge, which is quite reliable and has a
number of mirror sites.  If one mirror is down, try another.
