Peter, it is just a debug message in the code.  I've snipped it out and
recompiled.  If you wish, I can email you a repaired build.

Update: This is broken in the current CVS, but NOT in the downloadable 
tar file.  The files are dramatically different in the two versions.  So 
a quick regression in CVS tells me this was broken by the checkin of 
revision 1.5 (over 1.4) by "swallace", with the illuminating log entry of:
       Experimental pre 1.1.4

My guess is that experiment isn't totally successful.

This was four months ago.  Is it compiling better on other systems?  
(Again, the tarred version compiles just fine for me.)

    I  had problems in DB versions prior to 1.10. Now it seems to work
    OK,  but  I  still find it a bit hard to get some scripts to work,
    so  I  try  to avoid them. At least the GCD function is working OK
    now.

Yes, I used the brackets, but was not aware to use "ml"

(ml sqrt %2) returns the square root of the value in field two

Are you using brackets around the whole script?

refer to http://pilot-db.sourceforge.net/databases/dbScriptCommands.PDB for=
 a pdb file with examples of most functions.
